New to excel programming. I have column ("A") that I want to put in a line number only if data is entered in column ("B"). I don't want the number displayed in col. A if no data in col B or beyond. Intent is to only print pages with data.

Can this also be carried over to other columns that are based on formulas from previous rows?

Thanks in advance.

BusMgr,

...noticed you haven't yet received a response.

...suggest it's because your description is not that clear.

Could you clarify further ? ...or better still, if you offered to email a copy of your file, it would make it MUCH simpler to understand your situation, and to email you back a specific fix.

If necessary, replace any "sensitive" data with "dummy" data.

Thanks for your help. I modified Dreamboat's response to

=IF(B2="","",(A1+1)

I assume that this is MS's "if, then, else" type statement. Does it also work with "ISNOTBLANK(B2)" in your answer?

Thanks for your help.
