I have developed a macro that will add a custom menu to word on startup, this menu changes based on an external file so it must be reloaded every time word starts.

However, every time the macro is executing, normal.dot increases by 10 - 15 kb. How can this be ?

The macro is totally seperate to the normal file.

Any ideas ?

Kill it...Normal.dot is a source of pain and is anyway re-created by Word every time it starts.
After many many many many Word crashes, freezes and other nice stuff I found out that deleting Normal.dot solved all my problems.
So, kill it before running your code...You'll find it back when you finish.
