Hello, I would like to program an extension (9110) to autodial/forward all incoming calls to 1-617-xxx-xxxx. I tried to program this with WinSPM Release 8, but couldn't to get it to work. ThHis is what I did: From WinSPM's Phone Programming, I select 9110 and choose "Auto Dial" from the pull down menu. Then select the "Outside" radio button and tried 1617xxxxxxx, 617xxxxxxx, 61617xxxxxxx (we need to dial 6 for outside line), and other combination, but none worked. Any help will be much appreciated.
Note: Our phone system is Merlin Legend Release 6.1.

O.k., are you trying to forward your incoming lines or just the extension?

If you only want to forward the extension, go to standard SPM, sysprog-->exit-->extensions-->more-->remote fwd-->enter the extension(9110)

If you want to forward the lines, you additionally need to go to sys prog-->exit-->lines/trunks-->more-->principal user-->enter lines-->enter extension that lines are assigned to that extension.

Then go to the extension--dial feature 33, (dial out code) you are 6, 1-617 yadda yadda yadda.

Hope this helps
Hope you are trying to fwd.

Thanks jinxs for the prompt response. I think I didn't make myself clear enough. Here is what I need to accomplish: We would like to forward the security booth's extension (9111) from 2am-6am daily to outside line (617-xxx-xxxx). As far as I understand, Merlin can not do that. I think Merlin can handle forward, but just forward, no option for time settings (am I correct?). So, I am thinking of creating ext.9110 (no phone attached) to forward to the outside line and have the security forward 9111 to 9110 when he leaves. Does this make sense? Or I am doing it the hard way?

Why not program a Remote Call Forward button ( 33 + outside dialing) directly on extension 9111. The guard can then press the button on or off at 2am and 6am.

As noted, only calls that directly ring on 9111 would be forwarded, not calls that are being forwarded internally from some other extension.

If inconvenient for the guard to press the button at x9111, have the guard call into the Merlin system using Remote Access. Of course, this introduces security concerns; use a barrier code to prevent others from messing this up too badly.

So I can program a button to "Remote Call Forward"? I am very new to this phone system, can you step me through it? Sys prog-->exit-->etc. etc. etc.
Thank you very much in advance, John.

Did you enable remote forwarding for ext 9110?

Is remote forwarding and remote call forwarding the same thing? I am not sure if ext 9110 is remote forwarding enabled, how can I check it? Thanks.

yes, follow the steps in my previous posts, that will get you there.

jinxs, I am going to try your steps in your previous reply. Here's our scenario needed, in short: forward x9111 to 617-xxx-xxxx nightly by using call forwarding from x9110.

Quoting you:
If you only want to forward the extension, go to standard SPM, sysprog-->exit-->extensions-->more-->remote fwd-->enter the extension(9110)

If you want to forward the lines, you additionally need to go to sys prog-->exit-->lines/trunks-->more-->principal user-->enter lines-->enter extension that lines are assigned to that extension.

Do I have to do both steps or just the second one? Can I program x9110 in single line port or have to be either ATL/MLX? Do I need to have a phone plugged in that port?

I am very excited, thank you for all your help.
