HI

We currently use AutoCad 2000 ADT and run a mixture of fixed and roming licences (using the licence server)

We are about to upgrade to 2005 ADT and need to upgrade the licence server to issue 2005 licences.

We would like to install the new licence server on a new hardware so a couple of questions.

The problem occurs in that we need to run both 2005 and 2000 (due to hardware limitations)

Can you run two licence servers one for 2005 and 2000 on seperate hardware. Wil the correct version of AutoCad go to the correct licence server for the licence?

Do it matter that the 2005 licences are upgrade licences, from some of the 2000 licences?

Many Thanks

I have done this somewhat before. We run Land Desktop 2005 and upgraded to 2006, on the license server we still issue out licenses for 2005 or 2006. I would think that in your case that the 2005 licenses would point to the new license server and the 2000 licenses would still point to your old server since it is binded by the MAC address of the NIC card.

One last thing you may want to read the license agreement before running both 2000 and the upgraded 2005 to make sure you can do this.

We only ran the 2005 until a project was done and then moved to the 2006 and removed the older version.
