I'm using autodesk 3.3 and have been saving my file under different extensions, i.e. name_1; name_2; name_3. It is now refusing to open with the message:"Autodesk fatal error: Unhandled access violation reading 0x0024 exception at 75404b70h" popping up. I tried recoving it through 'Drawing Utilities' and then saving it under a different name altogether but still it refuses to reopen as soon as I close it. What can I do to recover the file or avoid this problem in the future?????

There is a good chance that some part of your drawing is corrupt. One method that I have used in the past to get around the problem follows. The problem with this method is that it's cumbersome and time consuming, but it's still faster than redrawing everything.
1. Create a blank file that opens and closes.
2. Open the bad file after recovery.
3. Wblock a portion of it.
4. Open the good file and insert that block.
5. Save it.
6. Reopen the new drawing.
7. If this works repeat 3 4 5 6 until you block the problem.
8. Delete the .dwg, rename the .bak to .dwg
9. Repeat 3 4 5 6 7 8 with other parts until you have as much saved as possible. Then redraw the missing data.
Good Luck.
