OK, I'm stuck on a problem.

I have a client who is running XP Home Edition SP1 and IE 6.0. It seems that IE is not saving any form data or username/passwords for autocomplete.

IE prompts him if he wants to save the username/password, but the next time he goes to the page (and the URL is the same each time) it does not seem to remember the information.

I've tried every trick in the book and cannot seem to figure out what is wrong. Anyone else have this problem????

XP Home does not have the "Protected Storage" service that XP Professional does have.

This behavior is perfectly normal. XP Home cannot retain the logon username and password between sessions. No matter if the site prompts to seemingly allow this.

It does have that service as I verified it was running. It shows started and running.....

I am sorry, but it does not have the same service as XP Pro.

Note: Windows XP Home Edition stores only Remote Access Services/Virtual Private Networking and Passport credentials. You must be logged on as Local Administrator to see the list of "Stored User Names and Passwords."

As I said above, your XP Home behavior is normal. If this is a needed feature, upgrade to XP Professional. There is nothing wrong with your XP Home isntall.
