We're using Networker 5.5.2 connecting to a StorageTek Timberwolf 9710. I am constantly getting drive errors where Legato thinks there is a tape in the drive when there isn't, or vice-versa. The drive will often show an I/O error if Legato is not aware there is a tape there.

What gives? X-)

The better you have to do is resynchronise your jukebox with NetWorker. Try the command nsrjb -v -H and a nsrjb -v -EI after .

HE..HE..HE...I thought I was the only one with this problem.

Sometimes I have to run nsrjb -vvvv -EI serveral times to get it to reset. I have an SUN L1800

Try

nsrjb -vEH followed nsrjb -vIE

The EH will ensure you have a complete reset to elemental state. With the 9710 (and 9740) I find that the occasional power cycle of the jukebox and drives also helps
