I have a client who creates technical drawings which she then sends to me as a .dwg file type. I have to put it into a Illustrator file, but because she is using PC fonts & we're on Macs, there are problems.
I know nothing about Autocad but figure since I can open something created by it, there may be a fix for this problem.
In Illustrator, when something is created with fonts & it is later turned into "Outlines" which eliminates the need to send fonts with a job.
Is there a way of doing this on her end before she sends it to me to elimate this problem?

Thanks

Hi Grapefruit,

If your client has the express tools installed on her machine, she can use the text explode command which will convert fonts to regular AutoCAD linetypes. The other option may be, to have her use true type fonts, maybe they translate over to the mac better? AutoCAD at one time could use post script fonts, which I think mac can read with no problems.
