WE ARE USING ACAD 2000 IN ALL OUR 12 OFFICE COMPUTERS. BUT IN ONE OF THEM WE HAVE A PROBLEM WHEN PLOTTING. AFTER SELECTING THE PROPERTIES TO PLOT WITH OUT ANY INCONVENIENTS, WE GOTO THE PREVIEW SCREEN. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE REGEN THE PROGRAM LOCKS UP AND THEM ALL WE CAN DO IS SHUT IT DOWN. WINDOWS (98) AND ALL THE OTHER PROGRAMS KEEP RUNNING FINE.

I WENT AHEAD AND REMOVED THE WHOLE THING AND REINSTALLED IT ALREAY. THAT DID NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM.

I ALSO NOTICED THAT IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH FILES THAT GROW BEYOND 1MB.

ANY COMMENTS ON ALL THIS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

This may be a long shot, but have you tried swapping video cards with another machine to see if the problem is video related. I have seen stranger things.

I had a similar problem with ADT 3.3 and I had to switch profiles under options and that fixed it. You would go to print preview and bam - it would exit the program without giving you a reason or a chance to save.

I reinstalled the software first and did several other things but nothing worked. Just by chance I changed the profile from my personal profile that works great on 3 other machines using the same printer back to the default and it worked. I then renamed the default and changed it to reflect my personal settings and it worked great.

No logical reason but 3 days later it worked.

Thanks borgunit & Caddstudio.

On the former, it seems the problem is related to videocard capabilities. If I can convice our boss about it, he would get whole new system to replace these computers (It happens in two compaqs that have the same configurations).

On the latter, can caddstudio elaborate on the "profiles" thing? Since I have never tried this feature, I am not familiar in doing so within ACAD, and I am a bit confused on what to do next.

Again, thanks fellows.

One source of the problem could be the size of your swap file (virtual memory). Try enlarging it PK Odendaal
