When printing to the HP Designjet 500 MS Windows XP Pro sp2 displays a send to Microsoft error and the job fails. AutoCAD Thinks the job was successful. Printing to other plotters is fine other pc's can print to the Designjet 500. Autocad has been reinstalled, the plotter has been removed and reinstalled per HP directions. Any Suggestions? Tip? Hi BobBrooks,

Hmm...

First, make sure you have the latest and greatest service packs for AutoCAD installed.

You didn't mention how you set up AutoCAD to plot, are you using a pc3 file or a system printer? In either case try the opposite of what you were doing, but in my experience, PC3 files are a better way to go for AutoCAD output, they seem to offer more control than the standard Window's drivers.

If this doesn't work, plot to a file using the drivers for your 500 MS and then try copy the plot file directly to the printer. If this works, you've probably got an AutoCAD problem, if it doesn't, something may be wrong with the machine itself - or it's time to rebuild it.
