Hi.
My client is running AutoCAD 2000i. A few days ago, he got a message in his AutoCAD command prompt which said that AutoCAD was being scanned. He lost his profile settings, and could not save his work. After restarting his computer, it prompted him to reauthorise AutoCAD, giving him 7 days grace period.
Has anyone ever heard of AutoCAD being 'scanned'?
This is not the first time AutoCAD (2000i and 2002) has lost its authorisation settings.
Any ideas please?
Thanks,
HW

Autodesk has noted problems with virus scanners, but they usually run to creating the "Fatal Error Autocad cannot continue" message. I recently had a similar thing happen to me under 2000i ("Autocad is being scanned"), but instead of just losing profiles, I got the nasty message and had to reinstall as well as recreate the profiles. I still am not sure what had to scan Autocad, but it may have been Norton.

Fortunately for me, I have several other computers set up the same way and can export profile arguments to the network. Just another instance where backups would have helped, I'll keep the .ARG files around.
