Autocad 2000 Freezes with 2 drawings open

Im am currently running Autocad 2000 under windows XP and have been quite happily for a couple of months now. For some reason when I try to open more than one drawing, Autocad freezes up and I have to end task, Also the cpu usage goes up to 100%. Has anybody has this proplem and can help me out. Its doing my head in!!!

Im ok now, got it sorted. I completely un-installed autocad (including any reference to it in the registry)and re-installed. That seems to have done the trick.
