I own AC 12 for DOS, and my system has XP Pro on it. I have unsuccessfully tried a few things to get AC to run in a DOS window through XP. Are there any other strange people like me trying to do this, and have done it successfully?

Thanks in advance,

Just try a google on DOS programs under XP or something like that. It should be possible.

We have also been unsuccessfully attempting to run DOS with Windows XP. We thought about installing Windows 98 along with Windows XP, but were told that was asking for trouble to have 2 operating systems in the same computer. We have been forced to learn to import points in windows and are moving out of AutoCad 12 completely, not by our choice of course. If you come across any solutions, please post them here.

Boy this goes a while back. I recall in the time of Windows 98 that in order to get the DOS version of AutoCAD to run within a Protected Mode DOS Window that you had to modify a system variable to include a file that went something like PH***.386. Now Windows XP is a different beast but there should be a work around solution. The thing is, it's been over 8 years since I had last done it. I'm going to go down in my basement to see if I can find it from my old college days and post back here.
