Auto View show on double click of ppt file!?!?! 1

Ok interesting case...

there is a presentation file ppt and when launched from one persons computer (the creator) it auto starts the show.. as if she hit view show.. but right off of the double click.. if she hits esc to get back to edit the show it closes itself..

now when I open the ppt it opens as normal and I'd never know anything was wrong...

aparently this happens to only specific shows she has.. and these are just 3 slides tossed together.. this isnt anything fancy


now I would think this would be a setting somewhere but I'm not sure

Hi Auger282,

Have you tried to save the PPT presentation as a .pps file type. .PPS will save the PPT prsentation as a 'show'.

Two things to try:

1) in powerpoint, go to Tools/Options/ view tab. From here, try changing the options of "open all documents in this view"

2) If that doesnt work, open windows explorer. Go to Tools/Folder Options/ File Types tab. Scroll down untill you get to the .ppt file extension. See if it is set to open with powerpoint, or the viewer. If it is set to open with a viewer, change to powerpoint.

Check back in if that doesn't work.

you guessed it.. we installed ppt viewer after the office install and the bastage took control of both pps and ppt files... *shakes head*
