Any connection should work, of course 56k is slow, due to the fact that each signature you download is about 3 Mb. Just remember that the connection MUST BE OPENED before Autodownload manger connects to CA's FTP server.
Moreover, you should explode your downloading scheme by allowing one machine to download the signatures per office, and then this machine will distribute the signatures to the other machines within the office. It would be better and less expensive than telling all machines to download the signatures themselves.
