Does anyone use the Arcserve agent on their Linux box to back it up from a W2k server?

The agent didn't set itself to start up on a reboot. I trust I can add something to one of the /etc/rc scripts to start it up. But I'm not sure which one or what command to add.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Debi

I've never used Arcserve before, but all you have to do is create a symlink to the script that starts Arcserve in /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/ and name the script Swhatever. You will notice that all files in this folder start with either S or K. S means run the script when init is initialized, and K means don't run it or kill it if it is started. The rc3.d directory is runlevel 3, which is the default for a command prompt login. If you boot to a GUI, place the script in rc5.d.

Lets pretend the script was called ac and was located in /usr/local/arcserve/bin/.

Run this command to create a symlink in rc3.d...

ln -s /usr/local/arcserve/bin/ac /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/Sarcserve

By the way, the above commands work in Red Hat. I'm not sure about other distro's.
