Hi,

I am trying to make a program in vb.net 2008 that will setup a PC automatically. The pc's however will not always be the same brand so cloning the disk is out of the question. I have though about editing the registry though code but not sure where alot of the values are stored such as the icons that are on the desktop, virtual memory settings, performance settings etc. I was wondering if their was an easier way to go about this? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

This really seems to be more of a systems administration question. I'm not sure that you'd even need to go as far as using a 3GL language like VB. You might want to ask this in a systems admin forum.
