I've searched on this one, but don't find the answer (if there is an answer!).
I have an Access 2002 application running on a Windows 2003 server. At the end of each day seven staffers log in and launch a report. I can easily regroup the report to run once and show each staffer's section. However - what I'd like to be able to do is have scheduled tasks in Windows run the report each day at a specified time.
The issue I'm facing is that the database is secured, using the .mdw file.
Is there a way to specify either in scheduled tasks or in a .bat file that is called by scheduled tasks that the database should be opened and the report run using a specific database user name and database password?
I have created a shortcut to the desktop and it does run the report, but if the database isn't open it goes through the Access security login screen first. That's fine if I'm at the keyboard, but not so fine trying to get it to run unattended.
Leaving the database open is not a preferred option.
Thanks!
Jim
