I'm using photoshop 7 and need to take an original square sized photo then resize it to various sizes, specifically
128x128
128x127
101x80
174x136
208x144
96x65
120x160
132x176

Now the first two are OK as I can just resize the photo and it looks the same, however when I want to convert it to say 208x144 I need to resize to 208x208 then crop to 208x144. I specifically have extra space around the subject on the original photo to allow this.

Is there a way to automate this in photoshop and save each adjusted photo as a Gif? It would be good if I could open the original photo then select an area which is the region of interest (ie the absolute "must have" area) and then run a script or action the image automatically builds out vertically and horizontally at the above ratios and saves each variant.

Regards,

D M

You can set options for the Crop tool to do this. With the crop tool selected, enter values for the width & height and draw your crop area as normal. It will retain whatever aspect ratio you enter.
