We have a customer relations mailbox that sends an automatic reply to any email that comes into the box. Unfortunatly, one of the people had an out of office reply set on his computer and the two mailboxes had a field day replying to each other. Is there any way within Exchange 5.5 that you can only send a single reply to a mail box, and if so, how?

Thanks

If you enable replys to the internet and setup a rule to reply to mail and get a ndr it will loop like crazy. So turn of the replies to the internet. Dan

From an Outlook 2000 client use the rules wizard to set up server side rules to reply to incoming messages.

how can we prevent the following situation.

if a user sets up out of office to send mail to a third party web based mail and after the users mailbox size is reached on third party server the mail starts bouncing back and due to the rule in outlook this mail again is forwarded to the internet address and that will be again bounced back. --- this loop will be continued unless we restrict the mail box size in information store- blocking sending and receiving.

is there any other method or tool detect and stop this type of mail relay.
