I just replaced a terminated administrator. He gets a lot of email that needs to be followed up on. I want to deactivate his ID and mailbox, but I need his mail forwarded to me, and I'd like an autorespose sent to whoever sends him email saying to contact me.

I tried setting up a transport rule, but couldn't get it to send a message AND forward the email.

Thinking about forwarding all email to a moderated folder and sending the autoresponse from there.

Any advice is appreciated.

Could you set two transport rules? One to send the auto-response, the other to forward incoming emails?
