Anyone know how to have an open page automatically update or reload periodically?

[Cheers]

Are you talking about writing HTML to do this, or trying to get the browser to automatically refresh for you?

Lee

I would like the browser to do it automatically ... say every few minutes. Then I could see if a reply, on forums like this, has been made.

[banghead] ... You are correct! I did a search here & perused the FAQs, but did not do a Google. [blush]

Many thanks. [thumbsup2]

trollacious,
Do you know if this refresher will slow down apps during refresh?
thanks

Chris

Depends on how often you refresh and how much other stuff you have running in the background on your computer. It probably won't do anything significant to slow down any applications, will be just a timer running in the background doing a countdown until the next task assigned to it. I haven't tried anything like that, so don't know for sure.

If you know HTML, you could always write a page on your computer that loads whatever you want refreshed in a frame, and then refreshes itself every so many seconds. That's a simple <meta> tag in the HTML code, and doesn't take much to run.

I found & loaded the ReloadEvery extension after trollacious's post. It works really well for me. However, if you are halfway through typing a reply to a post and it decides to do a "reload", the reply gets wiped. So you have to remember to disable it or type the reply in Notepad or similar.
