I'd like to know how often a Blackberry 6710 sends out its auto-reg signal and if it is configable. User manual and RIM site have not proved helpful.

What do you mean by "auto-reg"?

The times the unit attempts to contact a BES?

I know that if the radio signal is unavailable, the unit will attempt to re-connect to the network until it either manages to do so or the battery runs out.

I don't know much about the communications for these handhelds and my assumption is they don't continuously “talk” to the service provider but rather poll for connectivity. It is the timing of this “polling” that I would like to more about.

You would have to check with your service provider about that, I would think.

Even while looking through the Service Program Edit Screen on my own BlackBerry, the only possible entry which *might* be relevant is "Slot Cycle Index" (currently set to 2), but I have no idea what the possible options could be, even if I was sure if it was you were looking for.
