Not sure if I dropped this in the right Access forum...

I have a database that has 4 linked tables that needs to be refreshed after I open. Is there a way to get these tables updated?

If not upon Open, I have a Macro in this database that performs several tasks (copy linked tables, run query A, run query B, update table, etc...). Can I make this part of the Macro and have it run at the beginning? How can this be done?

As always, any help is appreciated!

Truly linked tables read the current information in the target. Do you mean you need to add information to linked tables? Generally, linked tables behave like regular tables.

That said there are 2 ways to run something at startup...

The autoexec macro runs anytime the database is open.

On the tools menu under Startup, you can specify a form to open when the database is opened. Then the form can fire code on its on open event.

I prefer the autoexec method as you may need to import everything from the database at some point and Startup properties are not imported. Also it is more hassle to use a form this way.
