auto refresh a report

I am using version 8.5 for crystal reports and i am taking an .rpt file and putting it as an hyperlink on my site. i want it to auto refresh every 5 minutes is there any way to do that. the connectivity is ODBC

Sure, use a program to schedule it to the location such as Crystal Enterprise, or a 3rd party program:

I guess that your users all have Crystal, or how are they viewing these reports? You might consider scheduling the export to Excel or PDF or some standard format.

If you need the rpt file to be refreshed, schedule a master copy of the report to export to the destination rpt file using a Crystal Report export format. Such exported rpt files always contain saved data, so they can be viewed without retrieving the data again.

I know how to export the data once. I do not know how to schedule an export for every 15 minutes. Right now when its on the website I can press F5 and refresh the report but I want the report to automatically refresh without me pressing F5. if you can direct me on how to schedule the auto refresh it would be helpful. Keep in mind refreshing the Internet Explorer page does not refresh the crystal report. I have to refresh the report itself. Thank you and hope the information I provided was helpful.

Do you know of any other tools becuase i tried the ones on the specific site but they did not work. none of them are for crystal v8.5. thank you and everyone for your help

I assume you are referring to the Report Managers listed at:

My Visual CUT has a version with Crystal 8.5 runtime components. I would be surprised if none of the other Report Managers listed there support Crystal 8.5

Which specific tools did you test, and how did you come to the conclusion that they don't support Crystal 8.5?
