We have a Remote Desktop Services farm with 2 Windows 2008 R2 servers. We want to auto reboot these servers every other night then send an email notification when this has been successfully done.

Can anyone give me some information on how to do this?

Many thanks,

Set a scheduled task to do a "shutdown /r /t 0". That will handle the restart.

What kind of script do you need for sending email? If you have a monitoring solution such as SCOM, that functionality is built in.

Dont have SCOM so could do with a script if anyone has one...

Thanks,

What KIND of script? VBScript? batch file? PowerShell? There are separate forums for each of these that your question is better suited in. You'll certainly get more advanced scripting help there.

Do you not use any server monitoring software, nagios HPSIM etc?
