auto protect removing explorer.exe

When I have Norton Auto-Protect enabled often I get a message pop up that says Norton found a Trojan and consequently removes explorer.exe. The only way to restore this is to reboot, can I remove this trojan from my computer or is it just Norton thinking it found a Trojan while surfing.
