I have NAV 2002 as part of Norton System Works but this problem was just the same in NAV 2001.
Every time i connect to the internet (using dial up networking) with auto protect enabled, my computer crashes. It crashes as soon as the port is opened to connect. If i disable auto protect i can connect without crashing and i can re-enable autoprotect as soon as the port is open, it will not crash then even if i disconnect and reconnect (unless i reboot the computer).
In NAV 2001 i used to get past this problem by only letting auto protect scan newly created or donwloaded files but this option is not avalable in NAV 2002 with Norton system works.
I have written to symentec but they could not help me so i have posted this thread here.
I have windows 98se and a Conexant 56k v.90 soft,data modem, i use MSDUN 1.4(but the system still crashes with other dial up network progs.)
If possible i would like to know how to fix this problem, or at least how to set auto protect to scan only newly created or downloaded files.
