Norton Sytem Works Anti-Virus Auto Protect feature is configured to start with Windows, and it does, but upon log out and then log in, it often becomes disabled. I checked to make sure the config was not changing, and it is not. Further, I can not enable it from the program. A restart (not login and out) is typically needed. Annoying! Help!

From the Norton site--you can see what the person wrote and the response from Norton. Don't know if it's the same problem that you have:

Hello Dale,

I suspect that there is a conflict between the loading of Norton
AntiVirus AutoProtect and another driver on your system. These
problems can occur if both drivers are attempting to load
simultaneously. The following document explains how to troubleshoot
these types of problems:

It is also possible that there is a problem specific to the Norton
AntiVirus Symevnt drivers. Use the following instructions to update
these to the most current version:

Symevnt Version 10.2.13.1 Update

This problem could also be related to low system resources. Please
review the following instructions to increase system performance:

That all made perfect sense, and I had some luck by playing with the resident programs. Ultimately, I decided to by SystemWorks that was designed to run under Win2000Pro, rather that use the patched version designed for Win9x. Just thought I would thank LuckyFour for his post.

Pardon my lady. Thanks again!
