Auto Numbers

Is it possible to have a workbook open up evertime with a different number in a cell in Excel 2003? For example if I had a workbook with the number 1 in a cell then saved and closed that one as a different name then went back to the original and opened it up and the number 2 was there then 3, 4, 5...
