How do you reset an Auto number field back to record 1

One way is to delete all the records in the table and then compact the database. Both of these can be done from VB code.

if you want to keep all the records, copy the table (STRUCTURE ONLY). then write an append query to append all of the orig table fields to the new table EXCEPT for the autonumber field.
