Auto Number Error Trap

Hi, I noticed that on my form that I have created it uses an autonumber. Users are going in and going into a new record and generating a new record but leaving it blank. How can I error trap so that Last, Fist and SSN are entered in before an autonumber is generated?

How are ya nycbigapple . . .

You could set the [blue]Required[/blue] property for these fields in the table, but then you'll get an system geneated error message you can't program around.

Better would be to validate the fields in the forms [blue]Before Update[/blue] event, giving the user the option to cancel (Undo) or return to the record to add data to the required fields. Of course if the fields have data, validation passes and the record is saved.
