Hello,

Does CM 8.6 has an equivalent to the aut-msg-wt feature in Avaya to light a button to alert that there is a new voice message in a specific voicemail box? or is it only possible adding a directory number for that voicemail box on a device? I hope this make sense.

Thanks!

What are you trying to achieve? Can you explain so we can give you the best result? I'm sure you can do what you need.

Thanks whykap. I have a hunt group with forward hunt no answer to voicemail. i.e hunt pilot 1234 going to vm box when no answer. In Avaya it's easy to add a aut-msg-wt button for any voicemail box on a phone, so it alerts when there is a new message for a specific vm box. Is it possible to do something like this on Cisco CallManager. I know I could add a DN as a member in the hunt group, then add that member as an additional line then to point the HG to that VM box and have that DN to indicate when there is a new vm message. However, I am wondering if there is a way to do it similar to the aut-msg-wt feature in Avaya.

Create a new DN, lets say 5555 and in unity add it as an alternate extension to mailbox 1234. Then add the 5555 as an additional DN to all the phones you want the MWI indicator. When a message is left for 1234 it will light up MWI for 5555 on the phones that's assigned.

Or you could just add the DN of the phone you want the alert on, if you have no spare buttons to add extensions, user will not be able to tell which box has the message though as was part of your original requirements.

That will work as well but the user will have to guess for whom the MWI is lit and check both mailboxes at all times.
