Hello

I use telnet to get into the unix system. I can't seem to get the autologout to work. Could it be a telnet issue? In the .profile i have set autologout=120

but this doesn't logout. Any suggestions?

Dodge. Which unix? In some versions you can set the TMOUT or TIMEOUT variable to achieve this.

We are using

SCO OpenServer(TM) Release 5

man idleout will tell you about a handy utility to do this. It will apply to all users though.

Annihilannic.

Is there anyway to do this for certain individuals??

Copy and modify the idleout script (those are vi line numbers on the left, so don't type them in):

[tt] 182 pids=`awk ' (new) $1 != "theuser" { next }
183 $6 == "." { next } 184 $6 == "old" { print $7 ; next } \[/tt]

Annihilannic.
