Can anyone help me with steps to make a plant floor machine autologon to the RDC? I want to make these machines boot up to the TS desktop that is being controlled through policies and keep them from using their local machines.

So far I have tried to run the exe to start the session through their logon scripts but it brings it up on the local machine with the connect needing to be initiated. I would prefer they did not see their local machines OS at all if possible?

THANKS...

Here are a couple of ideas to automatically logon

Method 1) Run Regedit go to the Edit menu select 'Find' (type) defaultuser. The purpose is to get to the correct place within the registry before you start configuring. N.B. You may have to press F3. You will have succeed when you see HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\winlogon.

Method 2) If Method 1 fails then :
Drill down to: HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\winlogon.

Second Objective to set the AutoadminLogon value =1
If AutoAdminLogon exists then Double Click on AutoAdminLogon and set value =1 (Numeric 1)

If AutoAdminLogon does NOT exist then go to: Edit (Menu), New, String Value, Type AutoAdminLogon

In regedit, you need to go to the EDIT menu, New, String Value type DefaultPassword.

To get AutoAdminLogon to work you need to add DefaultPassword to the same WINLOGON area. Set the password to what ever it needs to be for the DefaultUser to logon successfully.

As far as terminal server goes, there are setting in the Configuration Manager to control logon

I havn't verified this, but you should be able to use the TS client connection manager to create a TS session icon and add it to the desktop. You should then be able to copy this desktop shortcut icon and add it into the all users startup folder. This combined with the previous post should allow the PC to automatically login to the network then automatically launch and connect to the TS server session.
