We have a predominately Solaris shop where I work. Solaris has a feature known as jumpstart, where at the eprom boot prompt you can issue a command and the OS will auto load from a preconfigured server. We are slowly migrating to AIX. Does AIX have this capability to do custom installs over the net and where can I find some info on this? The net in general didn't give too much info.

Thanks.

-Harry

Yes... yo need to configure NIM (Network Install Manager). You need to search for that info at the IBM sites... you can share a root fs (/) for clients, and everything else: /usr /var /tmp paging-space, installation sources, etc.

Ihope it works...
