Hello,
Is there a program that when a user on a web site clicks a link such as send me more information, a pdf file is created on the server and then emailed. I would handle the email part with asp but I don't know how to auto generate the pdf file.

Thanks for any help,

A Davis

Generally, pdfs are created using a print driver. Once installed, one would just use this printer for printing their document.

Well what print driver would I install on a web server to accomplish that task?

Thanks,

A. Davis

Sounds like you're facing a similar problem to the one I'm facing. I think the Adobe FDF Toolkit does exactly that. Using ASP, from what I've read, it can dump data from a database into an FDF file. When you open the FDF file alongside its target PDF file, the PDF file gets populated with the data from the FDF file. Adobe used to give this FDF Toolkit away for free, but recently removed it from their download site. I've been digging all over trying to find an old place to download it. There are also lots of companies that make this sort of thing for hundreds and even thousands of dollars. The closest thing I can find is DynamicPDF. They have a scaled down free version that does many things (provided you know how to use the software with VS.NET). But for me, it won't work, as I need to use FDFs rather than PDFs. I've also seen kits for PHP that seem to do this sort of thing. Sadly, I don't know PHP.

I hope that helps. And if you find a free FDF toolkit tell me.
