I have started work on a site and have set up a members section and, obviously, a sign up screen. My question is, how do i send an email to someone who has just signed up, with details of their user name, and password etc. Thanks in advance, Joe

Hi there,

are you looking for actual syntax ? Also what backend are you using for your site. If you are using SQL you could set up a stored procedure or something similar that you execute after you have inserted the new users details.

If you want to keep it within ASP please recall Microsoft's Collaboration Data Objects (CDO):

var objMail = CreateObject("CDONTS.NewMail");
objMail.From = "me@my.com";
objMail.To = "you@your.com";
objMail.To = "him@his.com";
objMail.To = "her@hers.com";
objMail.Subject = "Our Subject";
objMail.Body = "My simple email to you generated with an ASP page.";
objMail.Importance=1;
objMail.Send();
