Hi,

I would like to auto-edit the content of cells in Excel:

'Tanja Jansen <tanja.jansen@domain.com>' into: 'tanja.jansen@domain.com'

Does anybody have a solution for this?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Tanja

Hi,

You said cells, not just one cell. So the format that you have is something like...
[tt]
'Some Name <other stuff>'
[/tt]
...and you want to end up with...
[tt]
'other stuff'
[/tt]
...in other words, just the '<...>'

Use Data > Text to columns > DELIMITED
First use the < Delimiter
Then use the > Delimiter

Choose Do not import column, for the parsings you want to discard.

Skip,

[glasses]Just traded in my OLD subtlety...
for a NUance![tongue]

You may try search & replace applied to selection.
