Customer receives a lot of voicemails on a daily basis.
Would like to know if there is way that the voicemails would be auto deleted when the mailbox is 50 mb full or lets say 70% full?

Avaya aura messaging 6.3

TIA.

No. Imagine that "you have 10 unread messages, 3 saved messages, and 4 other unread messages I deleted for you"

You can give them a class of service that can contain more messages, but you're not getting an automated way of handling them.

I believe the max limit is 65 mb for a mailbox. How do I go beyond that?

Use G729? G711 is 64kbps, so 1000 seconds would be 64000 kilobits, 8000 seconds 64 megabytes. You could go to G729, but let's be honest - once you're letting mailboxes store more than two hours of messages, what's the point?

I suppose you could do a store and forward to SMTP and get it in Outlook. Then if that heavy user had a very short retention policy, the messages would delete in the voicemail box but stay forwarded in email.

If i had 4 hours of voicemail to listen to, you'd better believe I wouldn't be fumbling around the phone keypad - I'd want them in a playlist on my PC or something.

Or you can just set the mailbox to delete messages after 1 day or 2. Other thing you can try is setting up that user as a Exchange message store user and then that way you can retain the messages in Exchnage and leave the message store on AAM out of it.

Now on the other hand it sounds like they do not care if they are heard or not otherwise why would they ask to just have them deleted if it reaches a % of full ?

I have a similar issue. I have a few users where their voicemail is forwarded to email and they never delete the messages. I set up a new class of service for these people where it deletes messages after 3 days.

Correct 65536 is the max Storage = 136 min or 2.275 hours.
I just make sure user has an vm to inbox feature set up and let them know the risk and setup a class of service to delete after 1 day.
Message Retention
Unread messages in Inbox folder:
Forever
Warn after
days
Delete after 1
days

Read messages in Inbox folder:
Forever
Warn after

Delete after 1
days

Messages in other folders:
Forever
Delete after 1
days

Also you can look into 'Mutare' or the new VM Avaya - 'ESNA' for storage and added features.
