Is there any way to auto delete items in my Outlook "Sent Items" (or any folder for that fact) after a certain time period?

If you are on an Exchange server, there is a utility available called Mailbox Manager which runs on Exchange 5.5. It allows an automatic removal of messages that meet a certain criteria such as age.

Do not use this for Calendar items, as there are issues with this under Exchange 5.5 SP3.

I don't know any way to do this solely with Outlook.

Where can I obtain this utility? Thanks for responding. If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.

Right-click on a folder and select "Properties." On the "AutoArchive" tab, check the "Clean out items older than" option and specify the time frame. Select "Permanently delete old items." Click OK.
Go to Tools -> Options, and on the "Other" tab, click on the "AutoArchive" button. Check the "AutoArchive every" option and specify the number of days. Check the "Delete expired items..." option. Click OK.

Moram,

It's part of Exchange 5.5 SP3.

From Technet:

"The Mailbox Manager service is included with Exchange Server Service Pack 3, either on the CD-ROM in the Support\Mbmngr folder, or in the Sp3_55ss.exe file that is available from the following Web site:
(
Note that the Mailbox Manager service requires Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 2 or later. See the Mailbox Manager documentation for complete system requirements."

I know there are also issues with this product and calendar items under SP3. If you delete old, recurring items it will delete all instances. Makes you real popular with users...

Good luck.
