Auto delete attachment e.g. *.exe *.bat etc.

Hi:

We use POP3 servers and Outlook to retrieve mail from the internet

Is there an add-on to Outlook available in the market that will automatically delete all attachments with pre-determined extensions.... perhaps the policies are pushed from the server???

Have you tried tooling with the Rules Wizard in OL? There is an option to delete any message with any attachment but, you may also be able to delete a message that has certain text in the subject, body or header. For example, *.exe or *jpg.

I'm sure there is a better way to do this but this is one idea that comes to mind. I am not aware of any add-ins.

What version of Outlook? The most recent versions with the latest service packs should block these attachments.
