Auto Attribute?!?

Hello,

I was wondering if any one can help me, I'm trying to gat an attribute to automatticaly update the acad file location. So that it does not have to be filled in manullay every time the fiel is moved, i have seen it done before but dont know how it do it or whats its called.

I have had a llok in the manual and autodesk website and could find nought....... i'm using AuotCAD 2004 full version.

Any help will be greatfully recived

Hi,

Are you trying to update the attribute value itself to the path of the drawing or save the drawing to a location specified by the attribute value?
If it's the former then yes, it can be done but it will only take effect either when you reopen the file after it's been moved or if you SaveAs the drawing to a new location - not if you copy/cut and paste the file in Windows Explorer..

Let me know what the attribute tag properties are: ie Tag name, etc. and I'll try to knock up some code for you if you can bear with me. I'm having a spot of trouble sorting my email so just post it here and I'll see what I can do..
