I am kind of a beginner when it comes to programming Merlin Legends and would appreciate any assistance. We have a console unit at our front desk that currently does not have a BUSY OUT or SEND ALL CALLS button programmed on it. What we are trying to do is program a nighttime service for all callers dialing in after hours (4:30 p.m. PDT). Do I need to change the programming for the console to add the above key by removing another feature as all buttons are currently assigned? I know I need to change the programming in the Audix, too. How can I build an auto attendant to cover the hours from 4:30 p.m. PDT to 8:00 a.m. PDT? The last problem we are experiencing is that when no one is around to answer incoming calls on the console during the day and after hours, calls are hunting to other office sets after four or so rings and irritating the personnel in those offices whose jobs are not to answer random incoming calls.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

The first thing to consider is what kind of a console do you have. Is it a DLC or a QCC. The DLC is more flexible. You should be able to program forwarding, DND, or any type of regular set feature. The QCC is a little different. All of the buttons are fixed on this type of set. Let me know what kind of console you have (QCC or DLC) and I can help you.

A qcc or a DLC should both be able to have this feature. The feature you are looking for is called Night Service. You really do not need to go through the console for this, just use Audix to do it.

OK, then that is easy.

Program one of the blank buttons on the console for Night Service. Then go into Sys Program>Night Service>Group Assign>Calling Grp>Enter the Extension number of the Console>And then enter 770 for the calling group (that should be your VM calling group). Then, on the Audix, enter, change auto-attend-routing business-schedule. Then enter the name of the schedule. Erase all of the Day Service Hours, and enter Y in the field for Follow Switch Night Service Status? That should get you on the road.
