Mitel 3300 latest firmware.

I have setup MLAA with 3 options when an external caller dials in.

Option 1 is for people to leave a message, so if they press 1 it transfers them to a voicemail box.

I have set up voicemail box 1 as a message only voicemail box.

This all works fine with a recording to please leave a message.

However after the recorded message the auto attendant then says please leave a message or press any key for further options, one of these options is to dial another extension number.

These options are not required and could be a security risk is there anyway to get rid of them.

A lot of people have asked the same question and unfortunatly it is not possible to remove this prompt
My only suggestion is to purchase a Nupoint either in MAS or full blown Nupoint allows you to customise what prompts are played

Log into mailbox 999 (or box 9999 if your extensions are 4 digit)
Press 2 to edit mailboxes
Enter mailbox number
Press # to skip each option until it says "Please enter a technician's function code" - press 1
It will say "Please enter a technician's function code again" - press 5

This will set the mailbox to play the personalized greeting then beep. Eliminating the canned prompt that follows the personalized greeting.

lowradiation, say again? I have never heard the "please enter a technicians functions code prompt" when editing a mailbox. Is this new or are your instructions off a bit.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

This has been available on the embedded voicemail on the 200ICP since 4.0.0.17 (released Nov. 2006).
Not sure when the 3300 added this functionality (probably same time). But I have changed this setting on my last 5 or 6 3300 installs (not a fan of the canned message after a users greeting).
They are the last 2 options presented when editing a mailbox using the TUI.

Copied from 200 ICP folio doc:

1. Access the System Administrator's Mailbox.
2. Press 2 for the Edit Mailbox menu.
3. Enter the mailbox number to edit.
4. Press # at each prompt until you hear the "Technician Function Code" prompt.
5. Enter the desired Non-busy greeting option number from the Non-busy Options table below for the default condition.
6. The Technician's function code prompt repeats. Enter the desired Busy option from the Busy Options table below.
7. Repeat for other mailboxes as required.

it came out on the 3300 slightly after the 200. it was well documented in the 200 training and not mentioned at all in the 3300 training from what I remember. the on-line help details it quite well though if you were looking for it

I too use the 1 and 5 that lowradiation mentioned. this gets rid of the "busy" greeting that is triggered by DND.
one gotcha though, if you are in the habit of training your admins to delete a box and re-add it when they hire a new person so the new person gets the new user tutorial, this will be lost.
wish they would put it in ESM, that would make sense.

Gosh! I never knew this existed
As Ross has said it was never mentioned in the training.

Looks like a bit of a fudge to implement especially for lots of mailboxes but at least some of the prompts can be removed when using special mailboxes MLAA etc.
