We have a call handler setup to transfer incoming calls to our receptionist during normal hours and to the auto attendant after hours. The problem is that during normal hours when you call in, the first thing you hear is "Please wait while I transfer your call", while the system transfers it to the receptionsit. Is there a nicer way to accomplish the time of day routing without getitng that message during normal hours?

If all the CallHandler is doing during the day is tranfering the call to the receptionist, why not put the daytime number on the receptionist phone and have her/him CFWD the line to VMail when she/he leaves. Or you could use Attendant Console so that when the recept is logged in they get the calls and when they log out it goes to the VMail box giving an appropriate recording based on time of day.
Also CCM 4.1 has Time of Day routing that will accomplish the same thing as what you're doing in Unity.
A third and last resort would be to find the 'Please wait while.......' wav file and replace it with a blank wave file with same name. The prompt would change for everything though and I would NOT recommend doing it.
