Using IP Office with Embedded Voice Mail.
I know the whole setup to enable the caller to dial by name, extension, etc.
Is there a way to enable the caller to be transferred directly into the extension's voicemail instead of it ringing the extension first when dialing by extension or by name?

Yes. Very simple.
Make a shortcode.
Code: #XXX
Feature Voicemail Collect
Telephone number "#"N

Now, do a transfer to #EXT, like #200 or whatever. You'll get an error about the user not existing, but it's fine, it'll work.

I used to be an ACE. Now I'm just an Arse.

I don't want to sound more stupid than I am, but will this short code work when the caller enters any extension number?

Yes (for 3 digit extension numbers). You can try some filtering, for example use #1XX would only work for extensions in the 100 to 199 range.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

It will work if you have a selector code whose function is transfer to #100, but it won't work if the selector code is Dial by Number, and the caller inputs 100. It also won't work with the DBN directory.

exactly as AAcon stated earlier so I will give him so pink seeing you didn't, I have done it that way and it works great
