I am setting up a new auto attendant for my system, (Legend 7.0).

Currently, I have all 40 extensions ring when any outside line rings, and then if no one answers after about 4 rings, Extension 10's mailbox (which is assigned to auto attendant 1) answers. At that point, the system plays the greeting I have recorded for auto attendant one.

Well, I want to now re-configure the system, so that any call that rings will be answered by auto attendant 1 immidately. I started to try this, by creating a new attendant (AA2), and created a group (771), with group 770 as the overflow. Then, I put line 820 into my group 771. When I call that line, the voicemail system does answer right away (like I want it), but immidately plays "Your call is being transferred to the operator." So, it is obvious that I either overlooked something, or set something up wrong. Any ideas?

Thanks for all your help.

did you create a m/b 771 and assign it as an auto-attd. you didn't specify what kind of VM you have so I can't give you specific instuctions.

Actually, I did not create a mailbox 771.

I have Merlin Messaging Version 2.5.13

Thanks again.

I would just assign the lines to an Extension and tell MerMesg that Ext is a AUTO ATTNDT 1.
