I have the need to setup choices for a user's mailbox. My example is simple, but I want to make sure of the best option. I want the caller to press 1- For Dept. A or 2- For that person's voicemail.

My question: Can this be accomplished without having to build a second mailbox in Intuity Audix? I was able to get to the user's mailbox when testing, but I had to use "guest-greeting" for the treatment. However, this puts the caller into Audix.

You will need to administer only the mailbox for the auto attendant and the person on press 2.

CDH0722,

Are you saying that the auto-attendant and opt 2 person must be different extensions?

They don't need to be different extensions meaning you don't need a separate extension on your switch to handle it but you do need two separate mailbox #s. So your extension forwarded to the auto-attd is 1234 and option 1 rings extension 9876 and option one goes to mailbox 5555. Now 5555 exists only in the voice mail system and collects messages off option 2 of 1234.

Although you may not need 2 numbers in the switch you still need 2 seperate mailboxes, 1 as the auto atendant and the other is the mailbox for the individual. The condition for press 1 should be call-transfer and press 2 call answer where the 3rd number collects the messages for the person.

cdh077/maxg- Thanks for your help with my question. I had planned to set this up using 2 mailboxes, but was just trying to find a way to do it using just 1.
