I have a bcm 50 r3 6.02.05.237. I had a complaint that the AA was picking up after 2 rings. I went into programming and was set for 4 rings. I verfied the lines that rang on the phones and those were set for 6 rings. So I changed the rings in AA to pickup on 0 rings and that worked fine. I changed it back to 4 rings in software and it picked up on 2. I changed it to 5 and it picked up on 3. I changed to six and picked up on 3. I changed to 7 and picked up on 4. It seems only the odd numbers in software are in increasing the physical ring cycles by 1 and ignoring the even numbers in software.

Has anyone ran into this?

It does sound strange:

Check your AA Target lines lines to see if they ring at another extn as well, that is forwarded to voicemail after 3 rings.
This extn may not have a mailbox so when it forwards to voicemail it goes to AA instead.

check the lines with a butt set, I have had some telcos give 2 short rings instead of one normal ring, and cause exactly what you are describing. The bcm counts the 2 short rings, and you just have to double the rings in AA to compensate for it.

I will test this afternoon. I will post back.

Thanks!

Remember you need at least 2 rings for CLID to work
